The Fowler 52-380-024 Metric Satin Chrome Steel Rule is a 600 mm rule made of hardened, tempered steel with a non-glare satin chrome finish. It has inch graduations on the front, 10 mm graduations on the back, and microfine subdivisions for 1/32″, 1/64″, 1 mm, and .5 mm. This flexible rule is 600 mm long, 20 mm wide, and 0.4 mm thick. It is rust- and wear-resistant and meets federal accuracy specifications. Applications include measuring depths and widths of grooves and recesses.
Rules are devices used to measure distances, or to rule straight lines. Rules have markings at specified intervals (also called graduations), as opposed to straight edges, which lack graduations and are used solely to draw a straight line. Nearly all rules are straight edges, except for rounded rules used to measure circles and arcs of angles in geometry applications. Rules can vary from high-quality steel instruments used by machinists; to retractable rules (also called tape measures) used in carpentry and for home-use; to simple wooden or plastic rules used in primary and secondary schools.
The Fred V. Fowler Company manufactures inspection and measurement instruments such as electronic indicators, calipers, bore gages, and digital scales. The company, founded in 1946, is headquartered in Newton, MA.
This precision 24” 16R rigid ruler is made in the USA by Products Engineering Company (PEC Tools), a premier tool manufacturer. Rule is made from spring tempered and hardened steel and is 1.20” wide by .042” thick. It has a “high contrast” satin chrome finish that provides better rust resistance than polished steel and can be easily read in both low and bright light conditions. The sides of each rule are ground parallel and each end is accurately ground square to allow reading from either end. 16R graduations have 1/50” and 1/100” on one side and quick-reading 1/32” and 1/64” on the other. Graduations are precision photo etched and then black filled for easy readability.
INCRA Bend Rules make dual-surface layouts a snap using the corner slots shown above. The INCRA Bend Rule is precisely what you need for layout and measurement along the edge of a board or other workpiece. Weve put micro-fine marking holes at every scale line to instantly locate your sharp pencil point or scribe exactly on target with zero undertainty and no eye strain! The 90 shape holds it snugly in place while the two scale surfaces let you mark and measure on the top, edge and corners simultaneously! There are even two vertical end scales for drawing precision parallel lines relative to the edge of your work. All three lengths of bend rules are also available in INCRA Rule Sets. The Bend Rule draws perfect horizontal lines using the end marking holes while sliding the rule along the edge of your work!
Get it straight. Whether it’s your jointer or table saw, getting multiple horizontal surfaces on the same plane can be a challenge. Woodpeckers new 24-inch Straight Edge Rule will simplify this task along with numerous others in your shop. Straightness of each size is well within .001-inches per foot. The base edge has two legs for increased stability. The opposite edge is formed at a 30 degree bevel and engraved with an inch scale. By sloping down toward the work piece, accurate measuring and marking gets much easier. Machined from aircraft grade aluminum and anodized for protection and appearance. Comes in a fitted wall mountable case.
6′ Folding Rule-Mason’S Modular Spacing

We tested the accuracy of this rule with a precision caliper. The display read 6.000″ on the dot. Now that’s Starrett accuracy! Features 1/32″ graduations on the short end of the rule, making it perfect for setting bit and blade heights. Compact size means it will always be handy in an apron pocket. The first two long edges are graduated in 8ths and 16ths, while the edges on the flip-side are graduated in 32nds and 64ths. Finely-etched black lines on a satin steel background make for easy reading and minimal glare. Rigid tempered steel won’t bend out of shape. End graduations go up to 1/2″.
Starrett rules are made from fine quality steel and produced to the highest precision standards making them the most accurate and readable precision steel rules available.
